This essay competition seeks to spark the discussions relating to the issue and challenges faced, the barriers that exist that prevent teens from seeking help, and what solutions can be made. The youth can help solve this crisis among the youth.

Who can apply?  

  • Residents of Bergenfield enrolled at any high school.

How will I submit this essay? 

  • Upload your essay as a pdf file. The essay text should not identify you or peers. A positive approach should be provided.

Where is the form?   

Are there any format  requirements for the essay document?

  • Times New Roman font size 12, single spaced, 600-1000 words. 

What should I not do?

  • No Poems
  • No Pictures: don't include any images or visuals in essay
    No Plagiarism: make sure your essay is entirely your own work
    ChatGPT or any AI tools  not allowed.

 

How will my teacher/ guidance counselor send the recommendation?

  •  After you submit the application with the essay, an automated email will go to your named recommender requesting a brief letter in your support. Be sure to Inform and alert your recommender in advance.
