The Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BVAC) has been serving the emergency medical needs of the residents of Bergenfield, NJ since 1941 by providing the highest quality Basic Life Support (BLS) and transport to our patients free of charge. The Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps has an active membership of approximately 30 volunteers. Membership is comprised of men and women whose ages range from high school to retirement age. Among the corps personnel you will find students, paramedics, firefighters, policemen, accountants, bus drivers, computer programmers, office workers and more. Every member of BVAC is an Emergency Medical Technician certified by the State of New Jersey Department of Health or by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. We are always looking for new members. To join us, you need to meet the following criteria:

If you don't have a valid EMT card or CPR card, >contact us. We can give you information on how to get them. You do NOT need to be a Bergenfield resident in order to join but we do have a limit on the percentage of out of town members we can accept. You do NOT need to have any prior experience before joining us. You will be paired with an experienced crew that will help you get up to speed. You do NOT need to have a driver's license but having one is preferred |
